Westside they're probably stringing it out until their status in the PL is confirmed. If they stay up they'll probably file them around July and take the fine from HMRC with any points deduction for the following season and if they're as good as down they'll rush them through, filing them before the season ends so any punishment will be added onto this seasons points tally and

Everton have missed the government statutory accounts filing deadline, for their 2022 accounts.
I'm sure they have nothing to hide and it's just an administrative oversight...

The PL/FA have a whole raft of "punishments" for transgression of their rules but none of them actually have any teeth - the words just look & sound good in the media.
Everton may - only may, mind you - get a light tap on the wrist for this, then, as soon as the authorities backs are turned, will give them the finger - in spades.

if the FA don't have the spine to deduct points from the 6 clubs who unilaterally decided to leave the premier league and bring the game into serious disrepute, then how can they justify going after Everton for this?

There are so many differing precedents that it seems whichever one followed will be open to criticism. However a lot depends on whether or not Everton get relegated.
Going down a fine and transfer embargoes is a reasonably acceptable remedy. If they stay up a result that does not include a points deduction will seem too mild compared to the misdemeanour.

Didn't Swindon take a harsh points deduction?
From memory there was a hooha around theirs being upheld and Spurs escaping - they have never recovered
Unless I'm imagining the whole thing

But think it was Derby who managed to get it delayed so that Wycombe went down instead.
Derby had two lots of points deducted. The standard 12 points, immediately they entered administration, in season.
They also had 9 points deducted for financial irregularities, from the sale of Pride Park. This was applied, as soon as the case was proved (in season), but it had dragged on for ages.

They extended the period under scrutiny from 3 years to 4 to negate the Covid effects.
No-one else has breached the rules.

Think it was Blackburn who got points deducted for not playing a game when they reckoned they didnt have enough players but cant recall any other club being deducted points. Spurs were at the start of one season I think for some reason (?) but got them back about 5 mins later.
It was Middlesbrough who were docked 3 points, due to lack of players.
Spurs were docked 12 points (then reversed on appeal) for illegal player payments.
Ironically, it was Spurs's case, that set a precedent of wrong doings of one owner, not being punished by a points deduction, for subsequent owners, which helped us not get a points deduction over Tevez. When Sugar took over at Spurs, he eventually found the illegal payments and owned up to them. The points deduction was overturned, big fine instead.

These things seem to be variable When clubs go into administration in the Football league they seem to get penalised in the current season. But think it was Derby who managed to get it delayed so that Wycombe went down instead

Premier league will let them use the COVID excuse after the owner proves he has plenty of cash to keep them going

Even if there was a points deduction wouldn't it be from the start of next season?
Depends when the results of the case are known. If known by the end of the season, before the start of next, no reason it wouldn't be applied in this season.
Points deductions for being in administration have been applied, in season for example.

If there is an allowance for 'covid losses' this needs to be applied equally to every club.

Re: Everton financial fair play

Everton have definitely breached FFP, its just how much 'covid losses' they're allowed to get away it.
Per their own published accounts, they lost £252 million, in the TWO years to June 2021, of which they attribute £84 million to covid, So would have lost £168 million, if there hadn't been covid.
So unless they've made a ridiculous profit in the year to June 2022 (in excess of £60 million), they will be in breach of FFP.
